Hello there ICLW-ers! This is my second month participating and I've been looking forward to it since the last one ended although I doubt I'll make iron commenter this time around since I'm trying to stay ahead of the game with school.

So here's another brief little bio: I'm a 23 year old nursing student, future doula, future midwife, passionate home birth, intactivist, lactivist crunchy lady who would love nothing more than to find herself unexpectedly pregnant. Matt is 24 and we've been married since May 2007 and have been ttc that entire time (minus six awful months after our loss). We managed to get pregnant during the summer of 2008 only to lose that miracle baby at 12 weeks right when I started to think I was in the clear. It forever changed who I am and who I'll one day be as a care provider. There's not much going on with the ttc front right now but that might change once we find out what kind of insurance Matt's job will be offering (he qualifies next month!)

Two pregnancy announcements on face.book today. Hit me like two punches to the gut. I wish I wasn't so bitter.

Looks like I'll get to take the DONA doula workshop about a month from now in Springfield, MO which is like 2 and a half hours from here. I am waiting to hear back from one woman who is due in 7 weeks to see if I'm comfortable committing to being on call while in nursing school. If not, I will hopefully pick up some clients that are due this summer.

In honor of the new year, ICLW, and hope, I offer you my first giveaway. I have an extra copy of an older version of Taking Charge of Your Fertility that I would like to offer up. I know many of my readers have already struggled with infertility and know where they are in their cycle by the look of the toilet paper, but for those of you who don't, or who would just like to learn more, leave me a comment telling me what you would like to learn from this book. For an additional entry, become a follower of my blog and leave another comment letting me know about it!

Looking forward to another great week full of some new blogs and lovely ladies!

Here from ICLW. I just applied to nursing school myself. Looking forward to reading your blog from here on out!

(No need to enter me in your contest--I'm well past that point. :) )

I think the field of work you are going to school for is admirable. Sorry to hear that you had to deal with facebook reveals today. Those are never easy...sometimes I avoid facebook just for that reason - or at least hide newly pregnant people for a while!
Happy ICLW! #152
I will now be following your journey - feel free to come follow mine too! Best wishes! :)

Being a doula would be so interesting...so something I'm not cut out for, but interesting.

I'm sorry about the Facebook announcements. I sometimes wonder if the bitterness ever goes away.

Newbie from ICLW here. Adding you to my Reader account. :)

BTW - You don't need to enter me in the give-away. It's really sweet that you're offering it up for someone who can get use out of the book, though.

As a mama after three losses, I know all too well how much those pregnancy announcements sting.

Wishing you and your DH the best on your TTC journey.

*hugs*

You are a strong woman, training to become a doula and midwife through this experience! Those FB announcements really do suck though. Happy ICLW from #81! (And you don't need to enter me in the giveaway - I have taken charge of my fertility. If you could send me a copy of Taking Charge of Your Nonviable Fetuses, though, that'd be awesome!!)

Hi, here from ICLW :)
I already have TCOYF so no need to enter me.
I got two birth announcements on fb today which also hit hard - nearly coinciding with my 2d EDD.
This whole thing just sucks.

I'm stopping by from ICLW.

NO need to enter me -- we're past the infertility piece -- I have two beautiful children whom we adopted. But I remember well the pain and frustration of wondering why everyone I knew seemed to have such an easy time getting pregnant.

Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book.

Good luck to you in your journey.

How fantastic that, even through your loss and struggles with becoming a mom, you're training to help others become moms. Soooo impressive! Much luck to you now and when your ttc break is over. :-)

Hope you get good insurance news! I'd love to be a doula, but time doesn't permit for the learning right now. Someday...

I am very impressed that you are a doula, I think I would have a hard time with that given all these IF issues.
wishing you the best of luck...

You're so right - after experiencing my loss last spring, I've definitely changed how I interact with patients, especially patients who are struggling.

I love that you're training to be a doula! I'm meeting with my (potential) doula for the first time this weekend. I wish you the best of luck, with school, doula training and most of all, a natural BFP!

I have TCOYF already, so I am not entering in that, but I wanted to say hello and wish you a happy ICLW! I hope you find yourself with a surprise pregnancy as well. You all are about the same ages as we are, so your struggle seems quite real to me and I can relate to them. Good luck with school!
Happy ICLW from a first timer!

I'm here from ICLW! Nice to meet you. I admire you for going to nursing school. I'm so squeamish around medical stuff, I can't even watch it on TV! I'm sending good wishes for your BFP soon.
